The Prague City Court declared the Czech branch of Sberbank bankrupt

The Prague City Court declared bankrupt Sberbank CZ, the Czech structure of the banking group Sberbank Europe, reported STK agency.
The hearing on consideration of creditors’ claims is scheduled for October 6, on the same day a meeting of creditors will be held. Yirzhina Luzhova will remain the bank’s arbitration manager.
As the publication clarifies, at the end of June, Sberbank CZ had “tens of thousands” of creditors, the total amount of liabilities is estimated at almost 61.8 billion crowns (about $2.5 billion), overdue by more than 30 days in June there were liabilities in the amount of 42, 3 billion crowns (about $1.7 billion). At the same time, the nominal value of the assets is approximately 61.6 billion kroons, or almost $2.5 billion. The report of the arbitration manager specifies that the most valuable assets of Sberbank CZ are the rights of claim to 49,000 recipients of loans in excess of 51 billion kroons (about $2, 07 billion).
The municipal authorities of the Czech Republic also kept money in Sberbank CZ – it contains 2.4 billion kroons ($97 million) of the Vysočina region, 53 million kroons ($2.15 million) near the Pardubice region, 72 million kroons ($2.15 million) near the city of Svitavy .9 million), Chrudim has 26 million crowns (slightly over $1 million).
In early May, the Czech National Bank revoked the license from Sberbank CZ, after which the Prague City Court decided to liquidate the organization.
The publication, citing the financial and analytical department (FAÚ) subordinate to the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, reported that the Russian Sberbank formally, through the Austrian company, Sberbank Europe owns the Czech division, but does not control it, so the assets of Sberbank CZ are not subject to anti-Russian sanctions.
