The plot of the new album by The Rolling Stones developed like a well-twisted intrigue. In February, rumors emerged that producer Andy Watt was working on new material with the rock veterans. Then there was talk about the possible participation of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Elton John in the recording. At the end of August, an advertisement for the repair company Hackney Diamonds appeared in the London Hackney Gazette. The text played on the names of the Rolling Stones’ hits, and the design unobtrusively used the band’s famous logo. Then there was a planet-scale stream, during which rumors about McCartney and other heavyweights were not confirmed, but there was a hint about the participation of Lady Gaga.
Hackney Diamonds is the Stones’ first original album in eighteen years, and it had to be announced loudly and cheerfully. This is exactly what the Angry track became. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards’ ability to forge sad blues into pounding rock action has often turned the band’s songs into pure gold, and Angry absolutely sparkles with riffs and vicious vocals. In the song itself, Jagger seems to apologize to his girlfriend, unobtrusively informing him that he has not had sex for a month, which, of course, is very strange for an eighty-year-old gentleman. But even an apologetic tone does not negate the ability of the Rolling Stones to burst into your consciousness, scary to say at what decade of their career, opening all the doors with their feet.
The video matches the audio. Wrapped in black leather, Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney rides in a red convertible while the Rolling Stones come to life on large billboards. Before the campaign began, there was a question surrounding the band’s new album: were they too old for rock ‘n’ roll? The first chords of Angry did not cancel the fact that someday the members of this group, of course, will grow old. But obviously not now.

“Bi-2” this fall unexpectedly has a lot in common with the Rolling Stones. The group has released a new single, the video for it features a red convertible, and the song itself is full of cheerfulness and rock and roll movement. In addition to the convertible, the shot also included a poncho boat, a helicopter, a motorcycle and a very stylish retro tram. However, the main message of the new track and video “I’m Moving On” is not so much the intention to show that the group has taste and the ability to rent spectacular vehicles.
“Suddenly and powerfully, passing from mouth to mouth, the vaccine of life was revealed to me from scratch…” – these lines succinctly express the current mood of the Bi-2 participants. It was as if they exhaled and moved on. The darkness of the album “Hallelujah” fulfilled its function and expressed everything that its authors thought, showing concern on a variety of occasions. Now, regardless of what happened in life, you need to move on. And the signature mixture of rock and roll and dance in “Bi-2” in this case works perfectly together with the therapeutic text. If the band members indicate the direction of movement towards the new album in this way, then there is a reason to catch updates. At least from a distance.
