The Volkov Theater in Yaroslavl, which is rightfully considered the First Russian Theatre, has a new artistic director. After Sergei Puskepalis, who tragically died in a car accident in September of this year, he was the People’s Artist of Russia Valery Kirillov from Yaroslavl. He has been working in Volkovsky since 1989, he is busy with the current repertoire.
The theater team is pleased that it was not a person from the outside who was at the head, but a local figure, immensely devoted to the Volkov Theater. And they hope that Valery Kirillov will be able to maintain the atmosphere of unity that Puskepalis has created over the past two years and implement his plans for the season.
