IT-company Miro will reduce the total number of employees of its divisions by 7%, which is 119 people. It is reported in an official statement Miro CEO Andrey Khusid, posted on the developer’s website. Mr. Husid expressed regret about this, but explained that such a large team is no longer required to meet the needs of the company. Laid-back workers will receive a severance pay equivalent to 14 weeks of salary, a payment to compensate for the lack of post-employment health insurance (for employees in the United States), as well as support for further employment and visa consultations (for those living abroad on a work visa) .
In addition to downsizing, Miro is said to be “tightening its prioritization and spending,” especially in areas such as hiring, travel and large-scale internal events, the report said.
Miro was founded by Andrey Khusid and Oleg Shadrin from Perm in 2011. He is the developer of the eponymous platform for collaborating distributed teams, which is currently used by about 5 million people. In total, the company now employs more than 1.7 thousand employees. Miro has offices in the US, EU and Asia Pacific. Previously, Miro also had a branch in Perm, but after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, it stopped working, and its employees were offered employment in the company’s branches abroad.
