He linked the scandal to his political position.

The showdown between the organizers of the fair and the writer of the same name as the author of the novel “Generation P” ended in the victory of the “real Pelevin”.

Writer Alexander Pelevin is known today not only as a winner of the National Best Prize, but also as an active supporter of the SVO, and, unfortunately, partly as a person involved in a number of political “showdowns” and situations. Such as the legendary “theft of a raccoon” from the zoo in Kherson, which began with a joke about the fate of the animal on the social media pages of military commissar Anna Dolgareva, with whom Alexander is close friends. And ended with undisguised threats against her from Ukrainian “patriots”.

But now it’s not about raccoons, but about the fact that Alexander (in public referred to as the “real Pelevin” to avoid confusion by Viktor Pelevin, was denied the right to present the book to readers as part of a future fair. There were different explanations for this, the patriotic group of writers immediately announced “ liberal censorship.

“If censorship exists in our country, then it is definitely not of a liberal persuasion,” Irina Prokhorova, a member of the expert council of the book fair, opposed Pelevin’s like-minded people.

“I wouldn’t make any political gestures out of this (refusal),” Prokhorova urged, but Dmitry Kuznetsov, a parliamentarian and ally of Zakhar Prilepin, had already intervened in the matter, writing a deputy request demanding to disclose the names of those who decided to “hack” the presentation.

The scale of the epic battle grew, but suddenly one of the parties threw out a “white flag”. It happened on November 18th.

– My presentation at NON/FICTION will take place on December 1st at 13:00…. Will. All is well that ends well. … Huge thanks to everyone who supported me, you are great fellows, I don’t know what would have been without you. Peace, kindness, justice, pink ponies, super pigs,” said Alexander Pelevin.

And before his victory, he managed to tell MK that he had no idea why the book “Burn with Fire” suddenly “got up in the throat of the so-called expert council. Council book, of course, did not read. The book contains zero modern politics, zero themes of special operations. The bone in my throat was not the book, but exclusively my position. For fair-faced citizens in a white coat, I am an evil rashist, a quilted jacket, and so on.
