The building materials hypermarket chain OBI began selling its products at “Yandex.Market”. Now, as representatives of the parties said, half of the retailer’s assortment is available there – about 20,000 products. The remaining positions are planned to be added to the site by the end of next year. For OBI, such a sales tool will allow it to expand the geography of supplies, says a representative of the network.
Experts interviewed by Vedomosti note that large sellers of building materials prefer to work online independently, without the help of partner services. In particular, the General Director of Infoline-Analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, speaks about this. According to him, of the fairly large DIY networks, only Stroylandiya cooperates with marketplaces. Such sites in the DIY segment are more likely to be visited by manufacturers or, less often, specialized retailers with extensive expertise in a specific product category, adds Cross Insights partner Boris Ovchinnikov.
