The number of established companies in Russia increased by almost 7% in the first half of the year

The number of companies registered as newly created in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities increased by 6.8% in the first six months of this year, reaching 119,200, informed “Interfax” with reference to the data of the Federal Tax Service.

At the same time, the number of liquidated companies in the first half of the year increased by 2.6% year-on-year, amounting to 23,300. state register by decision of the Federal Tax Service – up to 85,100 (-34.8%). In total, 110,600 companies ceased operations in the first half of 2023 (-28.9% yoy).

The total number of organizations, the record of which is contained in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, increased over this period by 1.3%, amounting to almost 3.24 million.

Earlier this month, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin introduced data on the growth of indicators that indicate the recovery of the Russian economy. In particular, Mishustin drew attention to the fact that GDP growth in May amounted to 5.4% compared to May 2022, since the beginning of the year – 0.6%. According to Mishustin, at the end of the year, GDP growth could be above 2%. “Now we have confidence, in the event, of course, if there are no force majeure circumstances, that we should grow more than 2% per year,” he said.
