The promising North Siberian Railway (Sevsib) will be connected by only one corridor to China, Governor of the Kemerovo Region Sergei Tsivilev announced on October 31. His words were reported by Interfax. The head of Kuzbass noted that a final decision on the route has not yet been made.
The strategy for the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District provides for the formation of two new railway corridors in the PRC. The first of them involves the creation of two new sections: Sevsib – a railway from Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug) to Bely Yar (Tomsk region), as well as a branch from Tashtagol (Kemerovo region) to Urumqi (China).
