The new CEO of Perekrestok is the former head of Pobeda

Andrey Kalmykov, the former head of the Pobeda airline, was appointed general director of the Perekrestok supermarket chain. About it informed press service of X5 Retail Group, which owns the retail chains Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik.
“We believe in the successful development of the supermarket segment and want to strengthen Perekrestok’s leadership position. I am confident that Andrey’s personal qualities and professional competencies will help implement our strategy in the supermarket segment,” said Igor Shekhterman, Chief Executive Officer of X5 Group.
“I am happy to join the X5 team. Perekrestok was the first supermarket in Russia and has grown into the largest chain in its segment. Now I will make Perekrestok the most efficient supermarket chain with a unique assortment and high quality products,” Mr. Kalmykov himself commented on his appointment.
Andrey Kalmykov gone from the post of general director of Pobeda in March. The reason was a notification from European lessors about the termination of reinsurance contracts. This happened as part of the sanctions imposed against Russia because of the military operation in Ukraine.
