Russian poultry producers said that industry enterprises are operating stably and are increasing production, said Sergei Lakhtyukhov, general director of the National Union of Poultry Farmers. According to him, there may be a short-term shortage of products in some stores. He attributed this to weather conditions preventing the smooth transport of goods.
“The average daily slaughter is growing steadily, compared to the previous month it increased by more than 3%, and the excess of August indicators in November was almost 10%. It can be noted that the production situation is stable. Shipments from enterprises are carried out stably, we do not see any problems,” assured Mr. Lakhtyukhov (quote from TASS).
By the end of 2023, chicken meat had risen in price by more than 20%, chicken eggs by 40%. To stabilize prices, the government in December temporarily zeroed out duties on the import of frozen domestic chicken meat in the amount of up to 140 thousand tons, last week in X5 Group statedthat delays in the supply of chilled chicken to Russian regions in the first days of January were caused by frost and snowfall.
