And they explained the uniqueness of the Russian teacher

On the first day of spring, a competition for young teachers of wind and percussion instruments was awarded in the capital. The jury, consisting of leading and authoritative specialists in this field, selected 37 out of 311 applications, which represented Moscow, the Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodar and Khabarovsk Territories, Saratov, Penza, Samara, Kostroma, Sverdlovsk, Belgorod, Leningrad, Kaliningrad and Kurgan regions in the competition . The mentors shared with the MK correspondent their thoughts about their path, the secrets of their work, and also told how modern child musicians differ from children of previous generations.

Everything happens in the Great Hall of the Russian Academy of Music. Gnessins, where the winners of the II All-Russian professional competition for young teachers of wind and percussion instruments “Vivat, musician!” are honored. and a Gala concert was held. Thanks to this direction, masters were able not only to demonstrate their talents, but also to show the world an individual mentoring technique. But the uniqueness of the competition does not end there: this year there are also nominations for composers and arrangers of children’s brass bands.

The following trend emerged at the competition: the brass regiment is strengthened by the fair half of humanity. If earlier there were more men among the brass players, then over the last couple of decades we have seen how girls are now very actively learning and playing instruments that were traditionally considered male, admitted the deputy director of the Federal Resource Center for Art Education of the Russian Academy of Music. Proof of this was the bright performance of the Girls’ Brass Band of School No. 1770, which performed “Medley about Moscow.” Young artists not only played instruments, but danced. True, due to excitement, their movements sometimes got confused, but, as the girls admitted after the performance, one glance from their mentor Pavel Terekhin was enough for them to cheer up and start moving in sync. And the mentor – it was clear – lives with them on stage: at the moment of the students’ performance, not only his hands were conducting, but also the emotions on his face and heart. He was awarded a diploma in the category “Best Director of a Children’s Brass Band.”

“For me, the leader’s task is to charge students with energy both during rehearsals and during performance,” said Pavel, receiving his diploma.

According to the chairman of the jury, Erkin Yusupov, the participants began to take a broader view of teaching and are not limited to one school: young people study videos on YouTube, for example, how they teach in Europe and America – and based on this they are already forming their own method, taking into account personal experience . But, undoubtedly, there is the exclusivity of the Russian teacher – humanity and the ability to find an individual approach.

Pavel Yarovoy, who became the winner of the first prize in the category “Best Director of a Children’s Brass Band,” certainly possesses the above qualities. He represents the team of the Belgorod region, the village of Pyatnitskoye, Volokonovsky district. There are four thousand people in this village. A tall man in a blue tie, modestly clutching the award to himself, explained: “I can’t see myself without music, without brass music. After all, an orchestra is like an instrument: how you lead it, that’s how it will perform.”

Therefore, teachers cannot be considered separately from students. As Azamat Latypov, the holder of the 1st degree laureate diploma in the nomination “Best Teacher of the Brass Instrument Class”, shared, now the average child is very fast, thanks to the cosmic amount of information that can be found using the Internet. In addition, many programs have appeared supported by the Russian government, for example, a virtual concert hall.

– Today children are more open than before. Plus, neural networks and artificial intelligence are actively developing, so we don’t know what will happen literally in 15-20 years. It’s likely that the opportunities will expand even further,” suggested Azamat Anvarovich.

Priceless awards, diplomas, and statuettes have found their owners and are now scattered throughout Russia. Soon the students will meet again with their unique mentors and begin rehearsals.
