The status of an industrial complex was assigned to the Moskvich plant in Moscow, the capital’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. This status will give the company tax benefits, and the saved funds are planned to be used for production development.
“The cars have proven themselves well in taxi and car sharing services, they are actively used in the parks of federal and city departments,” Mr. Sobyanin wrote in Telegram. 67 Russian enterprises have the status of an industrial complex, which created more than 76 thousand jobs, he added.
The status of an industrial complex began to be assigned to companies in the capital in 2016; it is granted for 10 years. The special tax regime for such enterprises involves reducing the regional income tax rate from 17% to 13.5%, reducing property tax by half, land tax by 80%, rent rates by five times, to 0.3% of the cadastral cost of the plot.
In May 2022, the former Renault Russia plant came under the control of Moscow. The Moskvich automobile plant was launched on its site. Its lineup includes the Moskvich 3 crossover, the Moskvich 3e electric car and the Moskvich 6 sedan. The company employs about 1.6 thousand, and about 27 thousand cars were produced.
The rise in car prices in the Russian Federation, which began in August against the backdrop of rising scrap collections and the weakening of the ruble, continues in September. According to a survey of dealers conducted by Kommersant, the average price increase ranged from 4%, reaching up to 20% in some cases. Among domestic players, prices immediately increased by 10.1–11% for the Moskvich 3 and Moskvich 3E configurations.
