The Moscow Provincial Theater summed up the results of the Stanislavsky Factory festival

Sergei Bezrukov called the best young actors he believed

The closing ceremony of the 5th Summer Festival “Stanislavsky’s Factory” began, as expected, theatrically. The musicians of the orchestra appeared on the stage in factory helmets, which they soon took off and sat down at the instruments already in their jackets. And at the end of the ceremony, the participants were waiting for an impromptu battle.

Before the award ceremony, they remembered on stage how the festival went: 12 shows and discussions of performances from 8 regions of Russia: Vladimir, Samara, Barnaul, Novocherkassk, Zelenograd, Perm, Lesosibirsk and Novokuznetsk. We did not forget about the educational program: for students of regional theater universities, theater practitioners and theorists held master classes as part of the festival.

The winners in three categories were announced by the People’s Artist of Russia, the artistic director of the festival and the Moscow State Theater Sergei Bezrukov. The winners of the award were: for the best female role – Natalya Timonina for the role of Anatolia in the play “Three Apples Fell From the Sky”, “Vedogon-Theater” (Zelenograd); for the best male role – Andrey Kovzel for the role of Harry Wade in the play “The Executioners” (Novokuznetsk Drama Theatre); for the best acting ensemble – Oleg Ermolaev, Viktor Charikov, Maxim Makarov for their roles in the play “Dead Souls” (Lesosibirsk Drama Theater “Search”). A special prize “For a long journey to inner Ireland” was awarded to the troupe of the “Perm Theater near the Bridge” for the play “Irish Hero – the Pride of the West”.

Interestingly, the festival celebrates only the work of actors – there is not a single director’s nomination. The artistic director of the festival Sergei Bezrukov gives the leading role in the success of the performance to the artists: “At our festival, we award the artists for the best male and female roles, the best ensemble cast. As Stanislavsky said, the director must die in the actor. On the stage, we should not see the director, we should see the artists – because it is they who carry the director’s intention and must be extremely sincere, not to play, but to live on stage. All the works that we selected for participation in the festival are certainly worthy, the jury had a difficult task, and today we are awarding the best. Those to whom we, like Stanislavsky, say: “I believe!”

The performances were evaluated by theater critics Pavel Rudnev, Anastasia Ivanova, Ksenia Aitova. The jury members noted the high level of the performances presented.

“This year there was a very strong program of ensemble performances, in which interesting and strong actors performed a common task. It was very difficult to single out performances from this general artistic world,” theater critic Ksenia Aitova shares her impressions.

The festival ended with a holiday of improvisation and an “exam”, which was successfully passed by the students participating in the educational program. As part of the Improvisational Battle game, the actors showed what they had learned in the master classes. The battle was judged by festival teachers Sergei Bezrukov, Vladimir Anosov and Konstantin Mishin.
