“The monument to Churikova is from the evil one”: Safronov sharply condemned the installation of a “strange” monument

Nikas believes that the actress should be immortalized in a simple, intelligible and understandable way.

Sculptor Alexander Rozhnikov showed a model of the monument to Inna Churikova. Around the future monument of the actress, heated debates immediately broke out. Some fans of the legendary artist are unhappy with what they saw. Correspondents of “MK” at one of the social events showed sketches of the monument to Churikova, her friend, the famous artist Nikas Safronov. He, too, was not happy.

– I don’t like it: I don’t see a “delicious” idea in it, – says Nikas. – The sculptor says he is showing Churikov sitting on a globe. This is, of course, a strange idea. People will not understand what the sculptor wanted to say by placing Inna Mikhailovna on the ball. But then you need to write an explanation on the monument. Otherwise, Churikov will be associated with Baron Munchausen.

– I know that this sculptor has already made a monument to Inna Mikhailovna, which is installed in her homeland, – the artist continues. – That pedestal is successful. And this one is not. Churikov needs to be portrayed as Joan of Arc. It was her best role. There is no need to invent anything, to be cunning. It should be simple, clear and understandable. In the case of this actress, one should not be guided by surrealistic ideas.

– Everything that I see in this variant is from the evil one, – Safronov believes. – A huge head, small shoulders that are pulled out. The right hand on the presented layout is not noticeable at all. For my aesthetic taste, for a brilliant artist like Churikova, the monument should be more elegant.

“It needs to be made natural so that people immediately understand who is buried,” says Nikas. – This may be the figure of Inna Mikhailovna in full growth, standing on the scaffold. You need to show her as a great sacrificial actress.

– I believe that this option should be reviewed and made another, more successful, – says the painter. – Maybe make a decision collectively. Gather a few sculptors, painters and decide together. Because such a great actress as Churikova deserves the best monument.
