Along with the increase in the number of authors, the amount of content published in Zen also increased – three times compared to last year. Platform users began to subscribe to channels and “like” publications almost twice as often.
Zen content director Rinat Nizamov said that the number of topics on the platform has grown fivefold. According to him, in 2022, areas that were not previously represented in Zen were actively developing, in particular, gaming, education, as well as music and ecology.
In 2022, Zen completed the transition to a subscription model, which was announced in 2021. First of all, users in the feed are offered publications from the channels they have subscribed to, and only then recommendations. Algorithms select each publication for the user’s personal feed from almost 5 million possible options. In addition, “Zen” has updated the system of accrual of payments. Now their size depends on the number of active subscribers and their interactions with materials.
“Next year we will add new metrics in the author’s personal account in Zen – Studio. For example, based on statistics, Zen will automatically suggest how to interact with the audience more efficiently,” said Alexander Tolokolnikov, Product Director.
