The Ministry of Transport is developing a bill that will allow airlines to be fined for posting incorrect information about ticket bookings in the automated air travel information system (AIS OVP). The press service of the department reported “Izvestia”that they plan to submit the draft law to the State Duma in the autumn session.

The Ministry of Transport noted that verification of compliance with the requirements for the carrier to place information on the terms of the air transportation agreement in the AIS OVP will be carried out within the framework of state control in the field of civil aviation. The department indicated that due to erroneous data on flight times and incorrect issuance of tickets, people do not get on their flights.

According to Izvestia’s source in the Ministry of Transport, every year the central office of Rostransnadzor receives about 700 different complaints about airlines from passengers. The claims are mainly related to delays and cancellations of flights, violations of the conditions for the carriage of hand luggage, and non-refund of funds in the event of illness of a passenger or family member.
