The Ministry of Transport announced the ex-official of the Federal Air Transport Agency as the new head of the IAC

The Ministry of Transport of Russia reported that Oleg Storchevoi, who since 2012 has served as deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, has been appointed chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). The IAC reported that the council, at which Mr. Storchevoi was appointed, was held in violation of the rules of the agreement on civil aviation and on the use of airspace.

In a press release from the Ministry of Transport, which is at the disposal of Kommersant, it is reported that the council session at which Mr. Storchevoi was appointed took place today, January 17. After the appointment, Mr. Storcheva, the release notes, offered the head of the IAC Tatyana Anodina the title of honorary president of the council with the right to consultative vote.

Meanwhile, in a press release on the IAC website from today reportedthat the committee did not ensure the work of the council, and the agreement on civil aviation and the use of airspace does not provide for the work of the council by other persons than the IAC.

“In connection with the current situation, we propose to return to the legal field of the Agreement, stopping the continuation of violations of the Agreement and the destabilization of the work of interstate bodies formed in accordance with it,” the IAC said in a statement.

Earlier today, the press service of the IAC said RBCthat they do not have documentary evidence of information about the resignation of Mrs. Anodina.

The meeting of the council, as noted in the message of the Ministry of Transport, was attended by representatives of all states parties to the agreement on civil aviation and the use of airspace, the release notes. In addition to Russia, we are talking about Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
