The cost of air tickets in Russia has not increased this year, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
“This year, the average level of tariffs, according to the Federal Antimonopoly Service, as of November 10 <...> remained at the level of the last two years and decreased by 6.5% compared to the level of 2019. Thanks to subsidies, we did not have a surge in ticket prices in the summer, despite the increase in operating costs of airlines,” the head of the Ministry of Transport said.
According to Tutu.ru, an online ticket sales service, air ticket prices fell by a quarter (25%) a month after the partial mobilization in Russia was announced on September 21. It was clarified that the comparison was carried out on the basis of average checks of booked tickets with departures from 21 to 30 September and from 21 to 30 October. In this case, the date of registration was not taken into account.
Tickets to Armenia fell the most: at the end of September, one could fly there for an average of 58,000 rubles, and at the end of October, the cost of a trip fell by 66% to 20,000 rubles. One-way tickets to Azerbaijan and Belarus for this period have decreased in price by a third. In particular, if at the end of September a ticket to Azerbaijan cost an average of 39,000 rubles, now it will cost 27,000 rubles. Prices for a flight to Belarus fell from 14,000 to 9,000 rubles over the month.
