Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk in her Telegram channel denied information about police checks of the singer Shaman (real name Yaroslav Dronov). The Telegram channel “Caution, News” reported that a statement was filed against Yaroslav Dronov for LGBT propaganda (an organization recognized as extremist in Russia).

“Information has been thrown onto the Internet that the police are carrying out some verification activities against Yaroslav Dronov (singer SHAMAN). I can responsibly declare: the police have no questions either about Yaroslav himself or about his work,” Ms. Volk said.

Previously Telegram channel “Caution, news” reported on the application filed by activist Yan Korobkov. It is indicated that Mr. Korobkov saw LGBT propaganda (an organization recognized as extremist in Russia) in the video for the song “I am Russian.” According to the channel, the reason was the singer’s eyeliner, as well as episodes where men applaud the Shaman and carry him in their arms.

Yaroslav Dronov is 30 years old, he has three musical degrees, including the Russian Academy of Music. Gnesins. He took part in the shows “Factor A” and “The Voice” and won prizes. On February 21, 2022, the day before the start of the special operation in Ukraine, he published a video for the song “Let’s Rise,” dedicated to the fallen soldiers (the video now has 59 million views).

After that, Shaman began to quickly gain popularity. On September 30, 2022, agreements were signed on the entry into Russia of new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. On the same day, Shaman, together with President Vladimir Putin, sang the Russian anthem on Red Square.
