The Ministry of Industry and Trade suspended the rights of shareholders of JSC Vostochnaya Verf and transferred the enterprise to the management of the Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ), which is part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). About it reported in company.

Vostochnaya Verf is considered one of the leading shipbuilding enterprises in the Far East. It was founded back in 1952; in 1994, the company was transformed into a joint-stock company. Vostochnaya Verf specializes in the construction of warships, supply vessels and berths for the Pacific Fleet and the FSB.

In October 2022, the company filed an application with the Arbitration Court of the Primorsky Territory with a request to declare it bankrupt. The court accepted the claim for proceedings. As follows from the documents, the plaintiff requested a closed regime. October 3 court determined consider the case of declaring a company bankrupt in a closed court session. It is scheduled for November 15.

Minister of Industry and Trade of Primorye Sergei Kalitin explained the difficult financial condition of the shipyard due to sanctions imposed against the enterprise. At the same time, the authorities said that USC could become the owner of the enterprise and planned to invest about 12 billion rubles in the plant.

Vostochnaya Verf became the first enterprise to come under the control of USC after it received control over the corporation for five years VTB. Previously, the head of the bank, Andrei Kostin, who was elected chairman of the board of directors in August, stated about the “huge financial hole” in USC. The corporation also suspended procurement of components for 50 civil vessels under construction to determine the economic feasibility of contracts.
