The Ministry of Industry and Trade sees no prerequisites for a rise in the price of products in Russia in the near future, said Deputy Head of the Department Viktor Evtukhov. He assures that the cost of some types of food may even decrease.
“Yesterday, we once again spoke with colleagues from related industries that in the near future we do not see any indicators that food prices can go up in our country,” the deputy minister said on Rossiya 24 (quoted by TASS) .
According to him, prices may begin to decline “taking into account seasonal factors” – the end of the holiday season and the summer season. “As for the meat group, prices, we believe, will still have a downward trend for some types of goods by autumn,” Mr. Yevtukhov believes.
Meanwhile, May tea and coffee producers (Maisky, Lisma, Curtis, Richard, Coffesso brands) have warned about an increase in selling prices from September 1. They will grow by 6-9%. This measure was explained by the high volatility of the ruble exchange rate, which increased the cost of importing raw materials.
