The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a draft resolution, according to which, from June 1, 2023, Russia will return the requirements of the technical regulations for the safety of manufactured cars. The document is posted on portal draft regulations.
Since June, the ministry has been proposing to make it mandatory for cars manufactured in Russia to comply with an environmental standard of at least Euro 2. Also, starting from June, emergency call devices must be installed on all imported cars. Since November, it is proposed to make requirements for equipping the anti-lock brake system (ABS).
May 16, 2022 government allowed to produce Euro-0 standard cars in Russia (cars with exhaust according to 1988 standards), without ABS and airbags. The measures were not mandatory, but permissive.
