The Ministry of Industry and Trade approved changes to the list of goods for parallel imports, reported on the official Internet portal of legal information. Parts of the French car brand Renault were excluded from the list.
This change is due to the fact thatAvtoVAZ» assumed obligations to provide warranty service for the Renault brand, including the sale of spare parts.
In mid-May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the transfer of assets of the Renault group to state ownership. In particular, a 67.7% stake in AvtoVAZ was received by the Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Institute (NAMI) subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Renault Russia plant was received by the Moscow government. After that, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that cars under the Moskvich brand would be produced on the basis of this plant.
Also, the list of goods for parallel imports was supplemented by lubricants manufacturers Castrol and Liqui Moly, as well as the Datsun auto parts brand.
The import of goods into Russia under the parallel import scheme requires the absence of the consent of the manufacturer or the right holder. The law that legalized this procedure was signed by President Vladimir Putin on May 28. The list of goods for parallel imports is constantly changing due to the fact that companies decide to completely leave the Russian market or, on the contrary, return to it. As a result, brands are either added to the list or excluded from it, depending on the decision made.
In May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved a list of goods for parallel imports, which included more than 50 categories. Among them, in particular, cars and spare parts of brands such as Tesla,ToyotaLand Rover, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, etc.
