Some Russian state-owned companies and departments have completed the transition to domestic software at critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak said. The ministry determines the needs for programs and believes that “Russian suppliers cope with all requests.”
“A number of state-owned companies and departments have already switched to domestic software in accordance with the approved plans,” said Mr. Shpak TASS within the framework of the forum “Army-2022”. He did not give examples of companies that completely abandoned foreign software at KII facilities.
According to the Deputy Minister, work is underway with the industry “to develop the necessary solutions to ensure the outstripping pace of development of domestic developments.” As an example, he cited the “security platform” created in Russia. It provides trusted platform security solutions for CII facilities.
By presidential decree, from March 31, state-owned companies are required to coordinate with the Ministry of Digital Development the purchase of foreign software for critical IT networks for the country. Government agencies are prohibited from using foreign software and hardware and software systems from 2025.
