The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that there were no complaints about the problem with the supply of drones from China

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has not received any requests from domestic manufacturers about any problems with the supply of Chinese unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and components after Beijing introduced export restrictions, the department’s press service reported.

“Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has not received any requests from manufacturers about problems with the export of UAS and components,” – leads TASS message.

The department added that they keep the situation with export restrictions under control and provide maximum assistance, including through the support of the Russian trade mission in China.

Earlier on September 18, the Kommersant newspaper reported, that due to restrictions on the export of drones, which Beijing introduced on September 1, the supply of drones has become significantly more difficult, and there has also been a shortage of some components and the devices themselves. In particular, there is a shortage of agrodrones, which are still produced in small quantities in Russia. Chinese restrictions apply to drones weighing from 4 kg or a maximum take-off weight of 7 kg with a flight duration of more than 30 minutes. Russian manufacturers, the publication notes, have managed to create large reserves, but obtaining licenses for export to Russia can take up to a year.

At the end of June 2023, the government approved strategy for the development of unmanned aviation until 2030. As expected, the volume of the drone market in the Russian Federation by 2035 may reach more than 1 million UAVs. The greatest potential for their use is in the agricultural sectors, construction supervision, creation and updating of geospatial databases and logistics (delivery of goods to hard-to-reach areas).

According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, civilian drones can become a driver of growth for many sectors of the economy and services. To do this, it is necessary to develop the production of their components, components and assemblies.
