The first deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vasily Osmakov, said that until the end of 2023, Russia will ban the purchase of foreign unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of the state order. In the fall, the agency plans to approve requirements for the localization of drones.
“In the autumn, before the end of the year, we will introduce prohibitive restrictions on the purchase of foreign drones for the purposes of implementing the state civil order,” said Mr. Osmakov at the Innoprom-2023 forum (quoted from TASS).
The share of domestic drones by 2030, according to estimated The Ministry of Industry and Trade should grow from the current 22% to 70%. Thus, it is planned to achieve the “technological sovereignty” of Russia in their production.
According to strategies development of unmanned aviation, by 2030 Russia should form a new branch of the economy associated with the creation and use of civilian drones.
