The Ministry of Finance has prepared a draft order to reduce the minimum price for ethyl alcohol from food raw materials from 68 rubles. up to 55 rubles per liter reported in the department’s press office.

“Reducing the minimum price will allow producers of ethyl alcohol to adapt more flexibly to changing market conditions following the reduction in the cost of such products,” the ministry said.

Now the minimum price for ethyl alcohol is 68 rubles. per litre. The decision was made due to lower prices for grain crops after a high harvest in 2022. The document will come into force from the day of its official publication.

On July 26, the State Duma adopted amendments according to which the excise rate on alcohol, tobacco, cars and other excisable goods will increase by 5% in 2024 and by 4% in 2025 and 2026.
