The Ministry of Finance announced the preservation of the moratorium on unscheduled inspections of alcohol producers

The Ministry of Finance and Rosalkogolregulirovanie will continue to fully enforce the moratorium on unscheduled inspections of alcohol producers, follows from messages Ministry of Finance.

“The Ministry of Finance of Russia and Rosalkogolregulirovanie will continue to fully ensure the execution of instructions … on the introduction of a moratorium on unscheduled inspections. At the same time, state control in the sphere of production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products under the moratorium will be carried out by Rosalkogolregulirovanie on the basis of a risk-based approach using indicators of the risk of offenses.

The use of this approach makes it possible to better assess the risks of violations by market participants, while reducing the administrative burden on them, the Finance Ministry added.

At the beginning of June reportedthat producers of beer, cider and beer drinks are not threatened with inspections from Rosalkogolregulirovanie. As Yelena Tyukina, director of production at Krasny Pivovar, said at the time following a meeting in the State Duma, at which amendments to the legislation on the circulation of these drinks were discussed, “legislators consider the Chestny Znak labeling system and the register of alcoholic equipment to be a sufficient measure. Inspections, she said, are likely to be carried out at retail outlets selling beer, cider and beer drinks.

Earlier today it became known that Rosalkogolregulirovanie supported a proposal to lift the moratorium, which was previously made by State Duma deputies from the party “A Just Russia – For Truth. Party leader Sergei Mironov and deputy Yana Lantratova sent an appeal against the backdrop of mass poisoning with surrogate alcohol.

In early June, mass poisoning with surrogate alcohol occurred in several regions of Russia. The reason was alcohol brand “Mr. Cider”, which was produced in the Samara region. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that in the course of a chemical forensic examination, impurities of methanol and ethyl butyrate were detected in the seized cider in proportions dangerous to humans. 106 people were poisoned from drinking the drink, 36 of them died.
