The Ministry of Finance and Energy of Russia has introduced or will introduce in the near future a ban on the use of Apple devices by employees for work purposes. This is reported Financial Times citing a source close to the Russian government. A similar ban is already in effect in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the state corporation Rostec.
According to another source from one Russian department, the IT specialists of the ministries report when one of the employees opens work email from the iPhone. According to the FT source, officials complain that due to the ban they “have to carry another phone with them.”
The ban on the use of the iPhone for business purposes since mid-July has been consistently introduced Rostec, Ministry of Industry and Trade And Mintsifry. At the same time, Apple denied information about the intentional infection of devices.
