First Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin said that, despite unscheduled repairs at a number of Russian oil refineries, there are no problems with supplying the domestic market. He emphasized that all the needs of the Russian market for both gasoline and diesel fuel will be fully satisfied. Earlier, several Russian factories were attacked by Ukrainian drones.
“At the beginning of this year, our oil refining sector was faced with the need for unscheduled repairs at a number of refineries. Here I would like to note that the government, together with market participants, is taking all necessary actions in order to maintain a surplus of supplies to the domestic market… I can assure everyone that the market is more than supplied, and all needs for both gasoline and diesel fuel will be completely satisfied,” Mr. Sorokin said at a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy (quote from TASS).
Pavel Sorokin named additional loading of installations, use of reserves, as well as a ban on the export of gasoline as measures that help guarantee a stable fuel supply to the market. A similar measure was in effect in 2023 from September to November. Ban in 2024 installed for the period from March 1 to August 31.
