The Ministry of Energy explained the growth of filling prices for gas – Kommersant

The Russian Ministry of Energy said that the increase in prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LHG) at gas stations is not related to problems in the market. Previously, ONF reported “Izvestia”, which recorded a noticeable rise in the cost of this type of fuel in five regions. So, in Karachay-Cherkessia, in less than a month, the price increased from 17 to 23.5 rubles.
“Prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LHG) used as motor fuel are not regulated. But at the same time, unlike motor gasoline and diesel fuel, they do not have an excise tax. Therefore, the prices for LPG are significantly lower than for gasoline, but at the same time they are more subject to fluctuations, ”the press service of the ministry said in a thematic message (quote – Prime).
The Ministry of Energy noted that the dynamics of prices for LPG is not associated with a shortage, and recommended that players increase LPG sales on the exchange. The ministry emphasized that the domestic market is fully provided with both LPG and other types of automotive fuel.
In this regard, the Ministry of Energy recommends that owners of gas-powered vehicles pay attention to compressed natural gas (CNG): “The price of this type of fuel is also lower than that of gasoline and diesel fuel, but at the same time, it is more stable than LPG.”
As Kommersant reported, last week the price of LPG at the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange reached RUB 29,335 thousand per ton. Nevertheless, throughout 2022, the cost of Russian LPG showed sharp (up to ten times) jumps against the backdrop of a significant surplus of this type of fuel.
More about this – in the publication “Kommersant” “SUGs have become obscenely cheaper”.
