The Ministry of Digital Development proposed to cancel the requirements for the salary of young IT specialists for mortgages

Mintsifry proposed eliminate the minimum wage requirement for young professionals (up to 30 years of age inclusive) applying for an IT mortgage, as well as increase the credit limit under the program from 240 billion to 500 billion rubles. The preferential IT mortgage program has been operating since 2022; at the beginning of 2023, the rules for obtaining it have changed.

“The marginal rate on a loan is up to 5% per annum, but banks often further reduce it,” the ministry notes. Employees of all accredited IT companies can get a preferential mortgage.

Since the start of the program, 32,000 applications have been submitted. According to the data of the Ministry of Digital early Marchof which more than 7.6 thousand loans were issued for a total amount of 68.6 billion rubles. Now More than 10,000 employees of IT companies have taken out preferential mortgages, and the total amount of loans issued is more than 90 billion rubles.

In January 2023, the conditions for applying for a loan became easier, and the salary requirements were lower. Required salary before deduction of personal income tax decreased from 150 thousand to 120 thousand rubles. for million-plus cities and from 100,000 to 70,000 rubles for other settlements. In Moscow, the salary requirements remained the same – at least 150 thousand rubles. The age limits have also expanded.

In February 2023, 4.7 thousand applications for IT mortgages were submitted to banks, while in December 2022 – 2.1 thousand.
