The Ministry of Culture will individually transfer People’s Artists of Ukraine to People’s Artists of Russia

The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Alexander Sholokhov (United Russia), said that the issue of transferring the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine to People’s Artist of the Russian Federation would be decided individually. At a closed meeting of the Committee on Culture, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova discussed, among other things, issues related to the new territories.

“Automatically translate (People’s Artist of Ukraine.— “b”) to the title of People’s Artist of Russia – this will be a little disproportionate, because we are talking about regions the size of an ordinary subject of the Russian Federation, this is more of a regional level, although this, of course, does not apply to all levels, ”Mr. Sholokhov told RIA Novosti , noting that such moments require individual solutions.

It would be wrong to automatically make a person, generally unknown to Russia, a People’s Artist of Russia, this moment will be discussed at the level of the Ministry of Culture, the State Duma deputy said. Also, the issue of awarding the title could be considered at the regional level, said Alexander Sholokhov. According to him, for the transfer to the title of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, perhaps not such a long procedure will be applied as usual, but the necessary approvals must be passed. He compared the translation process to recertification.

Ratification of agreements on the admission of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to the Russian Federation was approved at the beginning of October 2022. Until January 1, 2026, a transitional period is in effect for these territories.
