The Ministry of Culture revoked the distribution certificate for the Kion series “Bezashennaya” (a remake of the film “Overboard”, the preview took place on September 29), says Kommersant’s interlocutor in the media market. A high-ranking source in the Ministry of Culture confirmed to Kommersant the revocation of the rental certificate; the ministry itself did not respond to Kommersant’s request for ten days. The premiere was expected on October 1. However, it did not take place, and the series card disappeared from the Kion service, which drew the attention of a number of media outlets. Kion declined to comment.

Famous actors Ekaterina Varnava, Evgeny Tsyganov, Yuri Chursin starred in “Bezbashennaya”; the series was shot by cameraman Sergei Prekrasnov. Director Lana Vladi has only short films under her belt so far, “Crazy” is her debut in large formats. According to the calculations of Zhan Prosyanov, editor-in-chief of Kino-Teatr.ru, director of development of the CHILL web cinema, the total amount spent on the production of the series amounted to 250 million rubles. for ten episodes. The series was also produced by Kion (the company has its own production company).

A distribution certificate gives the right to rent and show a film, allows it to be distributed and publicly shown. Its withdrawal or non-issuance, according to Kommersant’s sources in the media market, does not affect the release of the series on the online platform, serving as “a kind of warning.” The release of a series or film on an online platform may be prevented by the requirement of Roskomnadzor.

In the summer the Ministry of Culture did not give distribution certificate for the Kion platform series “Bar “One Call”” with Danila Kozlovsky, and on the day of the pre-show, August 11, the series was removed from the program of the “New Season” festival. In June, the series “Olga”, in which actress Yana Troyanova played the main role, disappeared from the library of the Russian service Premier and from the website of the TNT channel. The image of Maxim Vitorgan in the series “Contact” was replaced with an image generated by neural networks, and the mention of the actor was cut out from the credits. All of the actors mentioned have previously publicly spoken out against military action in Ukraine.
