The Ministry of Culture proposes to differentiate the amount of grants of the President of the Russian Federation to support creative projects of national importance in the field of culture and art. The draft Decree of the President developed by the ministry was submitted for public discussion on Wednesday, March 29.

As it became known to “MK”, ​​the ministry proposes to set the upper limit of the grant in the amount of 10 million rubles, the lower – 1 million rubles. At the same time, it is proposed to keep the size of the grant fund – 100 million rubles. in year. Today it is 100 million grants, and with the introduction of differentiation, the number of grants for cultural figures will vary from 10 to 100.

The creators of the document motivate their proposal by the fact that today all creative projects, regardless of their geography, scale, relevance, innovative nature and national significance, are evaluated equally, which is unfair. At the same time, it does not take into account how much money may be required for the implementation of a particular project. At the same time, the authors note that the inflation rate from 1996 (when “cultural” grants were established) to 2022 amounted to more than 2700%, and the size of the grant fund has not changed. Thus, with an increase in the size of grants, more projects, albeit expensive, but really valuable for the country, can be implemented.
