The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of Russia does not have data on the development of preferential mortgages for officials. According to the deputy head of the department, Nikita Stasishin, there are more important categories of citizens in the country who “need to improve their living conditions.”
“I have not heard that some kind of preferential mortgage program is being developed for officials, builders or housing and communal services workers. We have more important categories of citizens who need to improve their living conditions, – said Mr. Stasishin (quote from TASS).
According to RBC, with the initiative to administered preferential mortgage program for civil servants is going to speak the Ministry of Finance of Russia. Sources of the publication report that the idea of subsidizing the interest rate on mortgages for officials has been worked out for two years.
Since 2009, a mechanism has been in place in Russia to provide one-time subsidies to civil servants for the purchase of housing. Civil servants with at least three years of experience may qualify for a one-time subsidy.
