Starting from the second half of 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture will stop subsidizing the purchase of foreign seedlings for laying apple and pear orchards. This is stated in a letter from Roman Nekrasov, Director of the Department of Plant Growing, which is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, to industry associations – the Unions “Gardeners of the Kuban” and “Gardeners of Dagestan”, as well as the Association of Nurseries and Gardeners of the Stavropol Territory and the Association of Producers of Fruits, Berries and Planting Material. At the moment, the state allocates subsidies for the establishment of intensive orchards (over 800 trees per 1 ha) with seedlings from all countries. A large apple producer claims that we are talking about 0.8-1.7 million rubles. per 1 ha, depending on the region, year and planting density.
