The Russian Ministry of Agriculture proposed introducing a temporary ban on the export of durum wheat from Russia, should from the draft resolution on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The restrictions are proposed to be introduced from December 1 of this year to May 31, 2024. The reason is said to be “ensuring food security” in Russia.
The ban, according to the document, will not apply to the supply of this wheat to Belarus within the Union State, as international humanitarian aid to foreign states on the basis of government decisions, the movement of this wheat between parts of the territory of the Russian Federation through the territories of foreign states, etc.
In March Vedomosti wrotethat the Ministry of Agriculture may recommend that producers of sunflower oil, sunflower and wheat not export their products against the backdrop of a sharp decline in world prices.
As reported by the participants of the department meeting, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. The representative of the Ministry of Agriculture assured that a separate meeting with oil producers is not planned, and “issues of product sales fall within the competence of the business.”
