The Ministry of Agriculture may deprive some Russian regions of part of the state support, follows from a document published on the website of the ministry. We are talking about the so-called stimulating and compensatory subsidies that are allocated to farmers in the production of milk, cereals, and cattle meat. They are also used to reimburse part of the costs of purchasing seeds, livestock, laying gardens, and so on. In total, in 2023, it is planned to allocate 26.7 billion rubles from the federal budget for these purposes.
According to the current rules, which were adopted on March 27, 2023, the regions had to bring at least 50% of annual limits to agricultural producers by April 1. But there are exceptions. For example, the subjects of the Far Eastern District must transfer only 20% of the funds to farmers. If the regions do not do this, the Ministry of Agriculture will reduce their annual limit by 10%.
