The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, supported the resumption of regular business inspections by service employees, he said at a government hour in the Federation Council of Russia.
“I fully support the resumption of regular inspections. Trust but check. Without checks, we will not achieve results, ”said Kurenkov (quote according to TASS).
June 16 Russian President Vladimir Putin offered cancel business inspections if it is not associated with high risks of harm to humans and the environment. Then he noted that the number of inspections of entrepreneurship has significantly decreased in the Russian Federation. Last year there were 339,000 screening events, 20% less than in covid 2020 and almost five times less than in 2019.
Later Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declaredthat “scheduled and unscheduled inspections should stop, unless their activities are associated with high risks of harm to citizens and the environment.” The prime minister also announced that the government would legislate the norm for conducting inspections of entrepreneurs only for the relevant departments.
In 2020, a website for a unified register of supervisory activities was created in Russia as part of the reform. With its help, entrepreneurs can track information about planned inspections, see the decisions made after them, and they also have the opportunity to appeal them in a pre-trial order. On March 17, Mishustin announced that scheduled business inspections over the next eight years would only be carried out at high-risk facilities.
