The Yerevan Brandy Factory, which produces Ararat brandy, will stop exporting its products to the Russian market. This was announced by the Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan.
“I have information, as if already official, that the Yerevan Brandy Factory will stop exporting its products to the Russian market,” Mr. Kerobyan said at a joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia (quoted from news.am). This, he said, will create problems in terms of buying grapes from farmers.
“Structural changes are taking place in the field of winemaking,” he recalled, noting that the government is trying to quickly respond to all the changes that are taking place, and urged to wait for the development of the situation.
French Pernod Ricard May 12 announced, which will stop supplying drinks from its brand portfolio, including this cognac, to Russia from the end of April 2023. In mid-May, the concern reported that it would take several months to completely stop sales in the Russian Federation.
