Zelenograd microprocessor manufacturer Mikron launched two additional lines for assembling microcircuits into plastic cases and for assembling chip modules for bank cards under the guarantee of VEB.RF. According to a Micron representative, investments in expanding production and purchasing equipment for lines amounted to about 1.35 billion rubles, of which 1 billion rubles. was received through the Industrial Development Fund. The company is confident that the chip module assembly line will double the production capacity for bank cards.

“The line for assembling microcircuits into plastic cases will allow us to produce a completely domestic product, meet the growing demand for industrial and consumer electronics and reduce dependence on imports,” said a representative of the organization.

The expansion of the chip module assembly line will allow doubling the enterprise’s capacity for producing chip modules, including for Mir bank cards, to 56 million units per year, Micron expects. The new line for assembly into plastic cases, the company clarifies, will also make it possible to produce Micron’s own microcircuits in plastic and carry out contract assembly in a total volume of up to 18 million products per year.
