The MIFF Audience Award went to Black Moon by Mexican director Tonatio Garcia

The organizers of the 45th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) presented the first awards of the competition before the official closing ceremony. The Audience Award went to the film “Black Moon” by Mexican director Tonatio Garcia.
The winner of the Russian Film Critics Jury Prize was the tape “Trace of the Beast” by Serb Nenad Pavlovich. The same film received a special mention from the Federation of Film Clubs of Russia.
The Jury Prizes of the Guild of Non-Fiction Films and Television were given to the films “In the Shaolin Temple” by Chinese director Hongyun Sun and “Father” by Yuri Mokienko. In the documentary competition, film clubs of Russia awarded the film “La Singla” by the Spanish director Paloma Zapata.
The jury of Russian programs awarded the film “Doctor” directed by Artem Temnikov. The prize is dedicated to the memory of Sergei Puskepalis, who played the main role – he died in the fall of 2022.
The MIFF opened on April 20 and will end today, April 27. The main competition program will be held at the Rossiya Theatre, it includes 11 films from different countries.
