Arseniev noted that the transition to Asian suppliers led to an increase in the cost of book production by 10-15% against the backdrop of increased logistics costs. “Our partners from Asia do not consider it necessary to give attractive prices, realizing that we have no special options,” he added. As a result, this may lead to a rise in the price of the book itself, says Alexei Ilyin, general director of the Alpina publishing group.
Mintsifra noted that there is no shortage of consumables on the Russian market. The Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed that at present the only Russian manufacturer of offset inks is Polygraphic Inks, which produces products “in small volumes on the basis of the former Torzhok plant.”
