The main purchases of real estate in Moscow are made by single women with children

The majority of residential real estate buyers in the capital are unmarried women with one child. Ekaterina Lomteva, General Director of Ricci Residential Real Estate, spoke about this at the New Year’s meeting of the closed women’s club “Kommersant” “Values and responsibility: how the company’s mission and its DNA are revealed”.
According to Ms. Lomteva, we are not talking about the fact that developers are focusing on this category, however, “the main buyer, who makes the decision, who enters into the transaction, is a woman under 40 years old with one child.”
At the same time, the trend for small living spaces in Moscow “does not work,” added Ekaterina Lomteva. “The market is ready to absorb no more than 20-25% of these small areas. The rest of the volume is designed, if not for a large family, then at least for a family of two people. But we see a request from clients to purchase separate apartments for their grown-up children and to separate them as early as possible. They are now the main consumers of such small-sized apartments,” she said.
Let us remind you that in April experts stated There is a shortage of small apartments in Moscow: studios accounted for only 4% of the supply. High demand for them is formed by young people from 20 to 40 years old who work remotely.
