Over the past year, the most sparkling wine was imported to Russia from Italy, Latvia, and Lithuania – sparkling wine worth $319 million was imported from these countries. The top ten included Azerbaijan and Germany. RIA Novosti provides such calculations based on open data.
Latvia supplied the most sparkling wine to Russia – $167 million. In second place is Italy – $90 million. In third place is Lithuania – $62 million. In fourth and fifth places are Poland and France – $16 million and $3.5 million. Spain comes next ($3 .4 million), Georgia ($2.4 million), Armenia ($2.1 million), Azerbaijan ($0.9 million), Germany ($0.7 million).
Among the countries with available export values for 2022, Armenia (+241%), Georgia (+77%) and Poland (+44%) increased exports of sparkling wines to Russia the most over the year; France (-59%) and Spain ( -40%) and Italy (-9%). In just one year, Russia imported $348 million worth of sparkling wine, or 0.9% less than a year earlier.
