Walt Disney Studios screenwriter Barney Mattinson has died at the age of 87. Writes about it Deadline.
“He was the last Walt Disney Studios staff member to work for the company while Walt Disney was still in charge,” the obituary notes.
Mattinson is the screenwriter of many of the studio’s iconic cartoons. In his filmography – “The Lion King”, “Aladdin”, “Pocahontas”, “Ice and the Tramp”, “Tarzan”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Beauty and the Beast” and others. He joined Walt Disney Studios in 1953, just after graduating from high school.
