The Leonardo reservation system will begin operating in Venezuela in 2024

Representatives of the largest air carrier in Venezuela, Conviasa SA, began training in working with the Leonardo ticket booking system developed by Rostec. The implementation of the Russian system is planned to be completed at the beginning of 2024. Thus, Venezuela will become the first country in Latin America to use the Leonardo system.
As reported press service Rostec, during a visit to Russia from October 16 to 29, representatives of Conviasa SA will undergo training on working with the system, receive the necessary instructions and consultations, and also get acquainted with the experience of implementing Leonardo in Russian airlines. The visit of the Venezuelan delegation is a continuation of the training program to implement Leonardo into the infrastructure of Conviasa SA, which started on October 11. The contract for the supply of the system to the airline was signed in April.
The development of the Leonardo air ticket booking system began at the end of 2011. The official launch of the system took place in 2014. In 2019, the Russian government approved a decree on the need to localize reservation systems in order to reduce dependence on foreign software.
Currently, such Russian airlines as Red Wings, Aurora, Rusline, Yamal, UTair, ALROSA, as well as Pobeda and Aeroflot have joined Leonardo. According to Rostec, since the transition, Russian airlines have transported more than 44 million passengers using Leonardo. Abroad, the service operates in Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.
