Four stores of the Svyaznoy chain in Moscow in the shopping centers Schuka, Global Mall, RIO on Dmitrovskoye Shosse and Capitol in Podolsk were closed. The chain store in the Zhemchuzhnaya Plaza shopping center in St. Petersburg is also closed. This was reported RBC.

In February 2023, Svyaznoy announced that it plans to file for bankruptcy. In the spring, one of the company’s creditors – Alfa-Bank, Lorus Avtotrans and a number of individual entrepreneurs – filed a bankruptcy lawsuit, Svyaznoy itself filed the same lawsuit. In June, the Moscow Arbitration Court introduced observation procedure until December 5th.

On September 1, Vedomosti, citing an internal letter to staff, reported that the company was unable to pay salaries to employees on time. The company explained that its bank accounts were blocked by bailiffs.
