The Kursk confectionery enterprise JSC Konti-Rus will continue to operate as usual after the court decision made the day before to transfer its shares into state ownership. They emphasized that neither the joint-stock company itself nor its employees were recognized as extremists, and law enforcement agencies have no complaints against the enterprise, its management and workforce.
“As before, Konti-Rus JSC remains a reliable partner and fulfills all its obligations in full,” the company told Kommersant. JSC Konti-Rus participated in the consideration of the claim of the prosecutor’s office as an interested party. The company noted that it is entrusted with responsibilities to ensure the continuity of the enterprise’s operations and production, to preserve resources, production capacity and the workforce.
The Leninsky District Court of Kursk yesterday, behind closed doors, fully satisfied the claim of Deputy Prosecutor General Igor Tkachev, the defendants of which were influential Ukrainian businessmen and politicians: Rinat Akhmetov, Boris Kolesnikov (beneficiary of the Konti group and former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine) and Sergei Kiy, relatives of the late authoritative entrepreneur Zhigan Taktashev, as well as a whole group of offshore companies. The activities of the defendants were banned by the court and recognized as extremist.
